Personal Projects

I made three different screen backgreounds for three of my devices. I completed these through use of a collage of images arranged in Adobe Illustrator. I also used Adobe Photoshop to remove the background from some of the images I collected to use in the collages. Becasue these works are for my own use, I made the designs based on some of my favorite things. I created a Macbook Pro background based on my favorite singer, AURORA, a phone lockscreen based on my favorite band, Magdalena Bay, and an iPad background based on the Frutiger Aero design aesthetic, including images with references to Magdalena Bay as well as an old image of myself!

This project is a digital illustration made in Adobe Illustrator by tracing a photograph. I completed this project in Fall 2023, which was my firsat semester of college. The sculpture depicted in this work, Purple Worm by Rebecca Jane Hooper, rests in a garden on Winthrop campus. In this first semester, my friends and I would hang out at this sculpture every evening, and it became a place of familiarity in a unfamiliar environment. This work depicts my friends and I in one of these moments, and it acts as both a reminder of my beginning at Winthrop and a symbol of found familiarity in a scary new place.

I made this digital illustration in Adobe Illustrator based on a textile (see below) from the Baxter Mill Archives in Rock Hill, SC. This textile stood out to me becasue of the detailed line work and beautiful depiction of the deer. I included lyrics from "Abstract: Psychopomp" by Hozier, a song about watching someone hold a deer in their arms as it dies post being hit by a car.
